Jamal Parham, homeless youth I became friends with while working on the do1thing project. He had been kicked-out of relative's home in the Bronx because neighborhood thugs had been harassing him because of Jamal's homosexuality.
With no where else to turn, he spent nights for weeks on the street, and when it was too cold, he snuck into the Chelsea Mini-Storage locker the rented for $50/month and slept there.
